This is my first time blogging. I can't find a better reason for doing so than to keep my family and friends up to date during our trip to Alaska.

Lauren and I are joining our friends Kim and Mark on a cruise down the southern coast of Alaska to celebrate Kim's birthday. Due to the strict privacy policy, I am refraining from posting Kim's age. I assure you, though, that whatever her age, she looks fantastic and has the spirit of a woman decades younger.

Lauren and I arrive in Alaska before Kim and Mark and stay a few more days after the cruise. Our itinerary is as follows:

• May 24 - Lauren and I arrive in Fairbanks, Alaska.
• May 25 - Lauren and I travel by train to the Denali National Park.
• May 27 - Lauren and I travel by train to Anchorage and meet up with Kim and Mark.
• May 28 - The four of us embark on our week-long cruise.
• May 31 - Two hour helicopter ride.
• Jun 04 - We arrive in Vancouver. Lauren and I go on to Victoria Island.
• Jun 06 - Lauren and I go back to Vancouver for more fun.
• Jun 08 - Arrive home.
