Avenue Q

Lauren and I subscribe to the Broadway Series at the Broward County Performing Arts Center. We've been members for a dozen years or so. Last night we saw Avenue Q and we both liked it very much. It was funny, witty, and the folks on stage were very, very talented.

Right before the show started, Lauren asked me if I knew the production was a puppet show for adults. I did not, so I became skeptical. The only puppet-like show I've ever liked was Lion King. But as soon as they started singing "It Sucks To Be Me", I knew the show was going to be lots of fun.

Avenue Q deals with a bunch of issues such as racism, homosexuality, unemployment, money, aspirations, and love. There's even a steamy puppet sex scene - how cool is that!

I strongly recommend Avenue Q. Leave the young kids home.
